What this website does, and what the app does not · last updated 20 October 2026
This is not a policy I could quietly change — it is a property of the code. Where Did My Time Go contains no networking of any kind: no HTTP, no sockets, no analytics library, no crash reporter. It cannot send anything anywhere. Everything you track is written to one file on your own Mac and stays there. Install a firewall such as LuLu and watch it: it never asks to connect.
Visiting a page means a server sees the request. Here is exactly who sees what, and it is a short list.
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies and does not fingerprint you or follow you between sites. It gives me aggregate numbers — how many people arrived, roughly where from, which page — and no way to identify any individual. Your IP address is processed by Cloudflare to produce those aggregates; it is not stored by me and I never see it. There are no advertising trackers on this site and there never will be.
The pages, and the app itself when you download it, are served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare receives your request and your IP address as any web host does, and handles it under its own privacy statement. Nobody else is involved in a download. The page’s typeface is served from this site itself, so no font service sees your visit either.
You get what you type. The form is hosted by Tally and I read the answers. The email field is optional and labelled as such: give it only if you want a reply. I will not add you to a mailing list, because there isn’t one.
Mail to [email protected] is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to my personal inbox. I keep the correspondence as long as it is useful and then delete it. I don’t share it.
Since the app holds nothing of yours and the site’s statistics identify nobody, there is usually nothing of yours for me to show or delete. If you have emailed me or submitted the form, you can ask for a copy of what I hold, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it: [email protected]. I will do it. If you are unhappy with how I handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own data protection authority.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and nothing here knowingly collects information from them.

If this changes, the new version appears here with a new date. If it ever changed in a way that meant the app started collecting something, that would be on the front page, not buried here.
